
Location: Just outside Rugby, Northamptonshire
Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 per annum + £4,000 – £6,000 Tronc
Bonus: Up to £5,000 per annum based on KPI achievement
Start Date: End of July 2026 or sooner
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and ambitious General Manager to lead a well-established, food-led village pub with letting rooms, a thriving bar and lounge, private dining facilities, and a spacious restaurant accommodating up to 100 covers.
We are seeking a true hospitality professional who leads from the front, thrives on guest interaction, and understands how to create exceptional experiences that keep customers returning time and time again.
This role requires a hands-on operator who can balance commercial performance with outstanding hospitality standards while developing a highly engaged and motivated team.
The General Manager Opportunity
As General Manager, you will take full responsibility for all aspects of the business, including:
- A busy restaurant operation serving up to 100 covers
- Well-appointed letting rooms
- A welcoming village bar and lounge
- Private dining and event spaces
- Team recruitment, development, and retention
- Financial performance and profitability
- Maintaining exceptional guest satisfaction scores
You will be expected to be highly visible throughout service, leading by example and setting the standard for hospitality excellence across the business.

This is not a desk-based management role.

- Leads from the front during busy services
- Supports all departments when required
- Maintains high operational standards at all times

- Takes ownership of guest feedback and service delivery

You will have a proven track record of:
- Building high-performing teams
- Coaching and mentoring managers and team members
- Delivering structured training and development
- Creating a positive and motivated working culture
- Identifying future talent and succession planning
You understand that great businesses are built by great teams.
Commercially Driven
You will be comfortable managing:
- Labour costs
- Stock control and GP performance
- Budgets and P&L accountability
- Sales growth initiatives
- KPI delivery
- Revenue management across food, beverage, accommodation, and events
Experience Required
- Previous experience as a General Manager, Deputy General Manager, or Operations Manager within a quality hospitality environment
- Strong food-led pub, hotel, restaurant, or premium hospitality background
- Experience managing accommodation or letting rooms is highly desirable
- Excellent people management and coaching skills
- Strong commercial awareness and financial understanding
- Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences
