Director
I’m the proud founder of Goldstar Recruit, which I set up in 2009.
I have been in hospitality recruitment for 20 years and have worked both in an agency environment and also internally for large hospitality companies.
You have to be a ‘foodie’ to be associated with hospitality and I’m no different. I love the UK food and tourism scene and I am always on the hunt for the next hidden gem.
At home I have a wonderful wife, Sophie and two young children. I also have a chocolate cocker spaniel called Berkeley who loves nothing more than a stroll around Blenheim Palace.
In my spare time I follow both Football and Rugby. I like nothing more than watching a live Oxford game, or heading to Twickenham to catch an England Rugby International.

I started my working life in the Motor Industry as a PA to the Dealership Manager.
I really enjoyed the Recruitment Aspect of the role which involved working closely with agencies and meeting lots of new and diverse individuals.
Having joined Goldstar Recruit in 2013 to initially oversee the temps division. Following continued success and growth I was then made a Director.
My primary focus is to maintain the high standards of service we offer. I enjoy the variety that the job brings and the fast pace of temporary recruitment.
Outside of hospitality recruitment work my most loved past time is spending time with my 2 beautiful children.
I enjoy family trips locally and abroad, Spa days to relax and love dining out. There are many wonderful destinations that Oxford and the surrounding areas have on offer.

At 20, I realised hospitality was for me. Jumping behind the bar at a local Peach Pub in Bedford, creating memorable dining experiences whilst studying at University. I soon realised how much of an integral part of the community a pub is.
Quickly climbing the ranks at Peach. I was General Manager of my first pub at 24 years old, before moving to Oxford at the start of 2020 to take on my second.
After 8 successful years with Peach, I decided to sidestep into the world of Hospitality Recruitment; What a world it is!
I love hospitality and have a burning passion for great food and drink. As well as a firm understanding of the importance of having the right people in your business!
When I’m not at work, I’m busy being a rugby fanatic & the Captain of Oxford RFC, looking for great new places to eat and drink, and keeping myself fit in the gym.

PERMANENT HOSPITALITY RECRUITment
I have been around the hospitality sector all of my career and hold a degree in Hospitality Management.
Most of my experience has come from working in a variety of high-end AA- Rosette gastro pubs, working my way up to Management level.
I then moved into recruitment for a 5 year period, but not in hospitality initially. Once you have worked in the hospitality sector and genuinely love it, it’s hard not to be drawn back in again, so after a successful spell in recruitment, I went back into the restaurant business, where I was on the management team within a Michelin star restaurant for a few years.
One day I stumbled upon a recruitment role at Goldstar, which was a perfect combination of my hospitality management experience and 5 years in recruitment too. I joined the team early on in 2024 and I settled in straight away.
Originating from South Africa, naturally I’ am a massive foodie and love the hospitality and tourism scene. On a daily basis I get to meet and talk to a variety of different people from all over the world, all with a different story to tell and with different experiences to share from this amazing sector we all work in. I love it!
Out of work, I like to travel, try new eating spots and walk the fields around my home with my golden labrador, Mabel

If you are looking for a temporary role or staff in hospitality, I will most likely be your first point of contact.
Recruitment is a two-way street, but I enjoy everything that comes with it: from reviewing applications to conducting interviews and handling administrative tasks.
I’m always eager to be part of exciting projects and make a positive impact. After obtaining my master’s degree in Journalism and English, I ventured into the hospitality industry and moved abroad to pursue my career.
Helping others discover their path, making a positive impact on their lives, and focusing on personal development come naturally to me. As a recruiter, the satisfaction of seeing the difference I can make is incredibly rewarding.
When I’m not working, I like to stay active by going to the gym regularly. I’m also passionate about research and enjoy exploring a wide range of topics to stay up-to-date with industry trends and innovations.
